Everything you ever wanted to know about interpreters and translators in the European ParliamentThere is a bulge on the interpretation of the European institutions. The institutions have more and better interpreters urgently necessary, also Dutch. In a creditable employer branding action publishes the European Parliament (EP) now a minidossier in Dutch on the translators and interpreters in the European Parliament and of the approach of the multilingualism within the Parliament.

The number of interpreters for Parliament works, of 350 during commissieweken to a peak of 1000 during plenary sessions in Strasbourg. The Parliament has a reserve of 4000 freelance interpreters where the appeal to can do if this is required. During the plenary sessions from 23 taalhokjes reflects, in which each of three interpreters sitting together. In total, there are 506 possible language combinations to all languages in the EU.

For the European Parliament also work 700 translators with 260 assistants. They translate monthly 100,000 pages.
